Chance says he has been recommended by RETIRED Chief Paul Williams, who is "in Portugal with Heather". Given the bum's rush with no retirement party, does anyone in GCPD trust the advice of Paul? Apparently the great detective hasn't noticed that Heather has been in GC for several weeks and is in the same episode telling Danyell she wants to stay for a while.
Does Y&R have a lot of fans in Portugal? I'd be interested in Heather's story about how she became fluent in Portuguese, studied for and passed their language and bar exams and opened her own law practice there. The oddity of Genoa Citizens flocking to Portugal (other than for a short vacation) reminds me of when Daisy ran off to "Saskatoon, Manitoba" (Saskatoon is in Saskatchewan, not Manitoba, as most of the Canadian fans that TPTB were trying to appeal to know) to escape the police. Or the time Patrick Swayze's brother Don, playing a sleezeball in a (literal) dive bar in "Ottawa", escaped through a trap door in the floor into the river. The dimly lit shanty town reminded me more of Robert Mitchum in Cape Fear than water-front properties in Ottawa, the nation's capitol. Though I must admit that "Nikki and Victor" having marital spats about shopping at Zeller's (Canadian department store) were some of the funniest commercials I've seen (check out Youtube "Zellers - Victor & Nikki", "Zellers Commercial with Victor Newman").

You have a good memory! I was trying to figure out who was looking after Lucy in Portugal while Heather was in GC defending Phyllis for what could have been a lot longer, since there was supposed to be a trial. But I guess Paul was keeping an eye on her. But now she's in GC and he's still in Portugal? Doing what? wouldn't he want to come home? Lucy was what, 13 when they brought her on the show like a year ago? She got the hang of navigating airports and handling cross Atlantic travel pretty quickly. Now she's just showing up in GC without even letting anyone know she's coming. It's weird.

I assume Paul's old job, but he hasn't received an offer yet.

How would Paul even be familiar with Chances work? He hasn't been around divorce.for years now except.in the writers imaginations. I notice that Christine mentioned planning to talk to Paul about divorce

How would Paul even be familiar with Chances work? He hasn't been around divorce.for years now except.in the writers imaginations. I notice that Christine mentioned planning to talk to Paul about divorce But Paul HAS been around off camera... he still gets mentioned now and then, and except for going to Portugal recently, he's been mentioned as though he's still the chief of police. Doug Davidson should be paid a royalty whenever Paul gets mentioned.
