Did any of this whole story line make any sense to any of you? Nick figured out Victor was faking and confronted him. Victor admitted it. Nick went straight to Victoria and told her. Then in a blink of an eye, it seemed like Nick believed Victor was losing his mind. And then Victor "figured out" that Nate was trying to send him to the loony bin and take over Newman so he fired him. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't like Nate and I'm not defending him, but Nate could have legitimately been trying to help Victor. How did Victor come up with his conclusion.
Should it be considered offensive to people with mental illnesses who are in medical facilities and being treated and then hearing Victor call it a "Looney Bin" every 5 minutes? I didn't think that was appropriate terminology for Vuctor to use.

This story was so poorly written, it made no sense at all. Why was it featured so heavily only to have Victor pull the plug before his trap was even sprung? All Nate did was be a responsible doctor and recommend a top-notch facility for diagnosis and treatment. That is not "proof" by any measure that he was betraying Victor. After all the nonsense we had to watch day after day, I certainly expected Victor to catch someone in the act of taking advantage of him. Or at least to appear like they were taking advantage of him. But to fire Nate for no reason? And the other Newmans are going along with it as though it makes sense. If the writers wanted Nate to be ambiguously guilty, they should have had Victor catch him sneaking a look at his computer or something. Not just recommending a highly regarded mental health facility.

Was Victor faking that he had been faking that he was faking it? Hopefully that is the end of this boring story and we can move on to a more realistic one - Nate suing Newman Enterprises for sexual harassment (his boss using him for sex) and firing him without cause. Even if he has no case (Adam probably has insider information), it would be less boring, which is the best we viewers can hope for.

It was such a badly written and rushed storyline. I too would like to have seen actual proof that Nate was up to something sketchy.
I can only guess that the writers are trying to get Nate back over to Chancellor Winters with Mamie, Devon and Lily, and that they needed Nate to be available because otherwise, he just wouldn't be swayed to leave his powerful partnership with Victoria.

Oh, yes, they clearly want him back to Chancellor Winters. But why do it in such a ridiculously clumsy way? After investing for weeks in this already-stupid charade story (which, as you said, is insulting not only to our intelligence but to people with actual dementia, just as Ashland's fake cancer was acknowledged to be) ... they pulled the plug so abruptly we didn't even get to see any payoff whatsoever. Like, just show Nate doing something a little sketchy. Something.

Was Victor faking that he had been faking that he was faking it? That would be the only plausible turn that would somewhat rescue this story. He is out of his mind with paranoid delusions. Clearly. If he starts actually exhibiting signs of a breakdown, so that they really do have to hospitalize him, this would all be somewhat worthwhile.

Maybe his delusions are real. I shared an article with LF about Eric Braeden’s tirade last week about his son. When I read that article he sounded exactly like his character Victor Newman berating our Canadian Airline, Air Canada. Maybe Eric is really losing it and the writers are just going with it. Lol 😆

Lol 😆 One thing I noticed in the scene that resulted in Nate being fired was that Victor looked at his phone at least two times, maybe more. It seems he couldn't remember his lines. Not the first time it happened, but it really seemed inappropriate in a personal conversation as opposed to a business meeting.

Even if Victor was faking things, that doesn't excuse his very bad judgement in the first place. He sounds paranoid, anti-social, all kinds of bad traits. That's enough for them to consider him unbalanced and not capable of making business decisions.
