It's been in print since 1975, and apparently this year had only 40 thousand-something subscribers (as opposed to over a million in 1990). I enjoyed reading it every Friday from my public library's online magazine section. Sure, I can always look at websites, but it's not the same. Apparently they're still going to print four "special issues" a year now, instead of 52 weeks a year.

Bummer. I can’t remember the last time I bought a magazine. Everything is digital now that I read. I am surprised they didn’t pivot to that model too

It makes sense. I just looked it up. In 1975 there were 14 soaps on. Now only 3. It's still sad how things change.

It's sad how things change from what we once knew. I don't generally look at magazines, except for cooking and decorating. But I am bothered by how many soaps have been dropped over the years.

Honestly with drivel like the Victor charade story, I don't know how much longer our soap will survive either. The only stakes for anything is which company to work at next in the endless musical corporate chairs. Stories begin and end a week later with no real consequences. It feels kind of crazy to realize that the only story I am interested in is Cricket and Danny, a redux from the 90s!

I think the Claire storyline has promise also but the company stuff has gotten so old and repetitive; different day, different company, I don't even follow it anymore. Even the Mariah/Tessa hearing impaired s/l does nothing for me and I think Camryn's a talented actress.
