Phyllis is so obnoxious. I hate that she is after Danny again, and I hate that Danny kissed her back. I absolutely detest her. She just can't stand to see Cricket with Danny. I love that Danny and Cricket are getting back together. Who would you rather see Danny with?

I'd like to see him with Christine but if that doesn't happen, I'd rather Danny be written off the show than be with Phyllis.

It's weird that Danny seems tolerant of Phyllis, given all the bad blood that happened between them in the old days. She's a little psycho. And for Michael and Lauren to call her their "best friend," and say she has charms? What the heck. She comes across as one of those mentally unbalanced characters in Lifetime movies. If I saw her coming down the street, I'd hurry to the other side!

I also hate how the dialogue these days is written as though to tell us who the characters are, rather than show us. It's so dumbed down from how it used to be. Instead of showing Phyllis as charming, exciting, free-spirited, blah blah, as well as selfish and scheming, they have people telling us this. That, combined with Stafford's hammy overacting, was the worst!
I, too, liked Cricket's reuniting with Danny, but so far the triangle, like everything on this show, is way too fast, blunt, and hamfisted.

30 years ago I would have voted for Phyllis. Holier than thou Pristine got on my nerves, and Phyllis then was clever and more subtle in her ways of provoking The Bug. And she wasn't flailing her arms and cawing like a crow all the time.
Today I would vote for boring Christine and Danny to head off into the sunset. Unless Traci wants to write a dashing novel about him and bring Danny back to life, starting with some moisturizer on his face.

Deirdra, I would've thirty years ago, too. Stafford's acting was much less mannered then, and just as important, Bill Bell wrote his daughter as rather saintly/boring, whereas he wrote the Phyllis character with many shades, selfish, manipulative, scheming, and also vulnerable and relatably wracked by insecurity. Now she's just self-serving, period.
I am still not a huge Cricket fan, but there is something sweet about the nostalgia, and Lauralee's acting has been super believable. Stafford playing the coquette is really hard to take.

This probably isn't a popular opinion, but I don't like Danny, not now, not then. There's just something about his character, about his acting, that I don't like. Part of it is he just seems to have a smile locked in on his face much the time.
