I'm just catching up and it's the New Years Eve episode. Random thoughts and observations.
Christine looked really good. Nice dress, nice hair, nice makeup for New Years.
Is Ashley losing it or is Tucker in denial? I really liked the flashback from each of their perspectives!
Phyllis is sitting with Michael and Lauren... they want her to come to their vow renewal but she's got plans to talk to Tucker about a business proposal. Lauren says "Do it tomorrow... during normal business hours". But tomorrow would be January first. Businesses are closed!
Wow, Scotty got mentioned! (Along with Fen and Trey). I don't know if Scotty got mentioned the last time when Fen and Trey were actually on the show. I forget the event. Maybe Lauren winning a business award at the Grand Phoenix.
There's cupcakes galore in the background at Society as Lauren and Mikey prepare to renew their vows. But there are ZERO guests. It's just Gloria, Chloe, Kevin, Michael and Lauren. I recall a similar overabundance of food at a baby shower... but I can't remember, was it the baby shower for when Tessa and Mariah adopted? Or was it the baby shower for Abbey when Mariah was the surrogate? I remember us joking about how few people were there. If you're only having a total of FIVE PEOPLE, why wouldn't you have it at your house/condo? How much does Abby get paid to shut down Society ON NEW YEARS EVE for 5 people to have a private party? This is ridiculous. Michael and Lauren only planned this after Christmas, and Abby ought to have had the place booked already with a lot of reservations. Remember when Society first opened? They actually had a stage for musicians, if I remember correctly.
I almost fast forwarded Michael and Lauren's vows. I couldn't stomach it. I kept thinking about her affair with Carmine Basco. At least Michael's capacity for forgiveness was mentioned. Lauren said to Michael, "We have raised two extraordinary sons". Scotty isn't Michael's. I don't remember if Michael and Lauren were together when Scotty was young. I don't remember anything about it. It feels to me like it didn't happen. ... Lauren and Michael do make a good couple. I'm glad they're stable now. Soaps need some long time good relationships. The thing with Carmine was a terrible writing mistake.
Uh oh, Heather and Daniel are kissing. Actually, I am rooting for them to get back together... they have more history than Lily and Daniel having a teenage fling.
