Today I googled Josh Griffith, wanting any juicy gossip to explain what I feel to be incompetent writing. I found out that he fired 5 writers in November, the writers in charge of outlining the storylines. It's worse because 4 of them were women, and one was in charge of making the storylines be more racially diverse. He's really on a rampage. One thing I read said he receives more dollars if those writers are gone. I'm just baffled by the low quality of the writing. I guess there are some things of interest, but in general, the tone feels kind of adolescent. I guess the almighty dollar takes priority.

I was wondering what was going on. I PVR & fast forward a lot, but that episode where Claire was having dinner with all the Newmans as if she'd always been with them, Sharon & Nick and Victoria & Cole were still married, etc., I rewound to see who the writer(s) were in the credits. Several in addition to JG were listed. I don't know if the credits were just for that episode or old, but the last time I checked (several years ago), there were never more than a couple of writers listed. I wonder if JG is using interns or something. That might explain the disparate writing styles, no plan or continuity, etc. JG is the one who needs to be fired.

I agree, JG is the one who needs to be fired. He sounds like a loose cannon, on top of being a crappy head writer.
