That was rather ridiculous. I'm no hacker, but at the bare minimum, I would have expected her to first talk about how she's going through a proxy server so her IP address and location will be disguised.
Who's laptop was that anyways? Adam's or Phyllis's?
Also, isn't it amazing how fast you can transfer $2.5 million? First, who's got that kind of cash laying around? And second, banks are pretty careful about things that look like money laundering... so a bank wouldn't have let this go through with just an internet transfer.

Not only that but Adam managed to find out who held the note and convinced him to sell in mere minutes. That was a cool 27 million. I guess that came out of Victoria's 50 mill?

Yes, that's another good point! I think I missed when Victoria paid Adam - it must have happened pretty quickly.
I can almost justify Adam being able to transfer money quickly, because he's probably had it in his mind for a week or more now that he is going to need to bribe or pay off a few people. Who knows, he might have made a bunch of money in Vegas.
But Victoria is theoretically a person with above average intelligence in financial manners, and there's no way she ought to have access to instant money either. It ought to be tied up in investments. I suppose from an Asset Allocation point of view, a certain percentage of one's holdings should be in readily available cash like holdings in a money market fund. But still, there's still that Money Laundering protection thing that would be a hurdle to get over to get a transaction to go through!

Believe me, I work in the financial industry and transfers like that do not happen in minutes. I can't imagine how Nick would be totally blindsided either. Surely he would have to sign some legal paperwork. I guess as usual we have to suspend reality in favor of moving the story along.

Also, we are to believe he only had one giant loan? I thought when he started the company, he had all kinds of investors. Y&R can be ridiculous and inconsistent at times. But I guess we'd be complaining if the storylines took as long to drag on as they would if investment issues and legal issues worked in a realistic time frame.
