Here are some screenshots I grabbed of the updated set. As always, you can click on the images to enlarge them. Overall, I'd say there just wasn't that much difference. In the main part, the biggest change is the counter with the glass boxed in area for donuts and cookies etc. It has a nice marble counter. The tables are new, and don't have fringe. Yay. They changed the chairs but honestly I don't know why they bothered. The chairs don't seem different enough. The hideous dummy is still there, the eyeglasses are still there, but the "hat" over them has changed from red to grey. The bench area is pretty much the same, and where the backs of two benches meet in the middle under the glasses, it still looks like a giant penis. The napkin holders that used to have the wire outline of a coffee cup have been replaced. I thought the old ones were cute. The jukebox is still there, but it may have had a slight makeover. The robot is gone. The red crimson lights neon sign over the jukebox is still there. On the back patio, the tables have changed (they aren't a metal mesh top anymore, and the decor on the wall is different. There are too many flowers everywhere.

If you don't know what I mean about the penis, this older photo shows it... also you can see the hat over the eyes/glasses is RED.

I watched it today and was completely oblivious to all of the changes. How could I be this clueless? Thanks for posting. I think it's a subtle improvement.

I study some of the sets a lot more than the average person, because I'm always thinking about how I would make things in miniature. And I save set photos sometimes, so I can go back and compare.

The upper half of the wall that has the Eyes and the Dummy have always been an embossed metal, but it looks like now they've highlighted the embossing with a lighter colour to bring out the detail. Also the art has changed over the left set of benches. Before: I just noticed that the Dummy has changed his position. Look in the "before" photo above, the Dummy faces to the left with a coffee mug in his left hand (right side) Now look at this photo... he's facing the other way and his mug has changed hands. Dang, he's actually ALIVE!! Freaky!!

I like the new coffee art.

Creepy dummy.... he moved again... he's back to facing towards the counter, (his original position before the reno) but his mug is in his right hand.

I didn't notice much of a difference either but I am so glad the fringe along the edge of the tables is gone. That does not look like a high end coffee shop. Looks like a college campus shop at best. Not even sure about that nowadays.

All the recent builds/renos of public spaces look cluttered to me-- Society, Grand Phoenix, and now Crimson Lights. I can't see a theme in any of them, yet they all look alike in some ways. Don't know if I'm making any sense....

Society and Grand Phoenix look similar in many respects to me. Society has a bright pink sofa, while GP has a pink pool table and pink in the artwork. On the sofa of Society there are some black and white pillows... one of the pillows is like a beach ball, with different "sections" like in a real beachball, each with a different fabric. The pillow is black and white. GP has the same pillow somewhere, but in a silver fabric.

The bricks in Society, and the bricks in Elena's new clinic. When the bricks go around a corner, they don't do what normal bricks do, like how you can see the ends of the bricks, and the mortar lines don't line up. That I would even notice this is a sure sign that the writing is not interesting enough.

So is this brick wallpaper? Crimson Lights also has "bricks". They love their bricks...

Yeah, I guess it must be wallpaper.

Remember when they had red bricks in the reno of the ranch house after Sharon burnt it down? Ugh. So dark and heavy-looking. Whoever does the sets does not have an eye for design.
