I have a few times. Just made a marinade for a pork tenderloin that I am grilling today. I sent my son to the store and had ginger on the list for another recipe I am making next week. He came home with 2 big pieces. So I threw some into the marinade for the pork. It should be good.

Yes I have used fresh ginger a lot. Usually in stir fries. How did your pork turn out?

It turned out really good. Everyone liked it a lot. The marinade was stone ground mustard,honey,vinegar some spices and the ginger. Saved some of it to use as a sauce to top the cooked pork. Was really good.

That sounds very good.
I'd try it, but I don't eat pork (or beef). It's kind of frustrating, it's so limiting. In the summer I like to barbecue, but I'm stuck with chicken, fish and vegetables.

I use ginger all the time, in all its forms. I especially like to make my own ginger tea (boiled with a piece of cinnamon stick and a dash of cloves and nutmeg), fabulous for digestion, provides anitoxidants, antivirals, etc. It can be too strong for some people but you can mix it with herbal tea or even coffee, add it to smoothies or lemonade. Today I picked some rhubarb and stewed it with a bit of ginger tea instead of water. I also added some crumbled candied ginger. As a treat for my daughter, I coat preserved ginger with melted chocolate!

Fantastic if you feel a cold coming on-- warm the tea gently, stir in honey to taste plus about one tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

HoneyRose I have heard about those digestive benefits. I am going to have to use ginger more. I know my husband and son would like the tea.

Each piece of ginger can have a different strength, so the tea can be very powerful. I usually mix it with something else-- lemon tea, etc-- because it can be pretty strong straight up. Ginger goes with many flavours.
