Phyllis suggested that the Home Decor division of March style do a makeover. Jack gave some pushback but hopefully it will happen. It is long due.

I would love to see an Abbott house make-over. I agree it's way overdue. They've done changes over the years but they've been very subtle and the "squint value" is that it hasn't changed one little bit.

I think I remember years ago when Sharon was married to Jack, she was going to redecorate it. I think she started it, but she and Jack didn't stay married long enough. Does anyone else remember that? I loved Sharon and Jack together?

I loved Sharon and Jack together? Yes I remember that. There might have been some minor changes, like a new sofa. I remember when Gloria moved in, she talked about redecorating and I don't know if anything happened with that. For sure I'd want to redecorate, at bare minimum, the bedrooom if I became the next wife.

When exactly did Phyllis become an interior decorator? Jack is crazy to give Phyllis the go ahead to mess with his family home. It will look cheap an overly "modern" just like the Grand Phoenix. Boxy furniture and fake flowers.
I agree the Abbott home could use a little make over but not by Phyllis.

Remember that time Billy redid the mausoleum? It was all grey, that's about all I remember. It didn't last long, thankfully.

I remember that. It probably took a pretty penny to restore it to the Mausoleum we know and love. Though I think Abby has a newer couch than the one Katherine & Judge Hendricks conceived Tucker on. The Abbott house could do with a makeover, but I don't mind it staying as it is, probably very similar to how it was before Dina ran off, so nostalgic & stable for Jack, Ashley & Traci. I think Sharon got a couch reupholstered and perhaps matching drapes, but chose something very similar to the original fabric, so I never saw the point. Other than a new couch & drapes, my parents' house stayed the same for 53 years (w/similar colour scheme as the Mausoleum) and my grandmother's for 44; it would have seemed odd if they had drastically changed things.

Even when they restored the mausoleum, it was never the same. The mural up the staircase is different. And like other sets, over the years there are subtle changes with the fireplace, the wall sconces, lamps, mirrors, vases etc. I don't remember what other changes there were after they axed Billy's grey room, but I probably noticed at the time. I think the architecture, the wainscoting, stair rails, etc did not match the look they were going for with the furniture. And the colour of grey they chose was all wrong, at least by today's standards.
